LEADING LARGE ORGANIzATIONS IN THE AGE OF CONNECTION
Author: Khurshed Dehnugara
Instability, disturbance, emergence, networks, informal learning, trial, error, adaptability, low growth, fluctuation and momentum – these are the experiences that are increasingly dominating the lives of today’s business leaders and managers. There is a growing awareness that the old industrial constructs of detailed planning, perfection and process are no longer working as effectively as we might wish in our large, established organizations.
This book is a challenge to the way we relate to each other and lead businesses in the post-industrial age; it is full of passionate stories, reflections and insights. The writing inspires the practice of alternative forms of courage, acceptance of our imperfections and new methods of contact with each other as we navigate the changing nature of the workplace.

Masters of Innvovation

Building the Perpetually Innovative Company

Authors: Kai Engel, Violetka Dirlea, Stephen Dyer and Jochen Graff.

Masters of Innovation is the manual for creating a sustainable innovative organization – because innovation is not an art. It’s a capability. The past 15 years have brought a flood of how-to books about innovation, most of them stuffed with stories of startling eureka moments and charismatic leaders. These stories have little to teach business leaders their own innovation capability. But Masters of Innovation clearly and concisely explains how managers make innovation more than just a ‘breakthrough moment’.

This book offers the real experience of the world’s best Innovators. These are not just the hot ‘tech’ companies of the moment, but companies growing in traditional sectors—automotive, train travel, household appliances—where slow growth would be expected. Many have been in business for generations, and still they grow. Being innovative is a repeatable process that can be studied and learned, one that will sustain a company’s profitable growth for decades.

WHAT DOES IT REALLY TAKE TO SUCCEED AND PERFORM AS A BUSINESS MANAGER AND LEADER?

Authors: John A. Dembitz
Jack  Welch,  the  legendary  CEO  of  General  Electric,  described  himself  as  “the  world’s  best  paid  human resource  director”.  Welch  and  other  leaders  of  extraordinary  successful  companies over  the  past  30  years  focused  on  one   particular  part  of their  business: the  people.

Unlike  other  assets,  people  have  legs  that  enable  them  to  walk,  they  go  home  at  night,  they  have brains  that  enable   independent  thought,  senses  to  make  them  aware,  and  have  intangible  feeling s.  But  the  way  that  they  are  managed   impacts  directly  on  the  business’  bottom  line  like  no  other  asset  category.  This  book  is  a  firm  reminder  of  the  value  of   people  to any  organisation.  Great  managers  and  leaders,  at  whatever  level,  are  ones  capable  of  driving  performance   and  change  through  people.  This book  provides  essential  actions  and  behaviours  to  pursue  (and  those  to  avoid)  for  any   manager  who  is  seeking  the  path  to  great management  and  leadeship.

In the Shower with Picasso Quick View

In The Shower With Picasso

The art of turning uncertainty into opportunity The legendary artist Pablo Picasso took baths when he was in  need of new ideas for his work. Other people take walks in the  park or visit an art gallery or watch Youtube – in an attempt to  spark their creativity and imagination. This book inspires us to work harder with our creativity – both as  individuals and companies. Being creative is now critical in our  careers, but most people regard creativity as somewhat mystical,  slippery and a rare entity. In fact, all of us are capable of  creativity – if that is what we want. Often, it is about having the  right mindset and finding the right spark to set off your creativity. This book contains wonderful stories from Scandinavia of people  from different backgrounds – opera, architecture, science, art,  drugs, sport, toys, film, technology – and how they find and use  their creativity. Scandinavians are one of the most creative  groups of people in the world, and as such, this book represents  the Scandinavian way to creativity.

Communicate what you stand for by telling a better story

Author: Mark Masters Marketing has changed more in the past 20 years than any other business discipline. So why are we relying on the same-old textbooks? Why do business owners still think that shouting louder than the competition is the answer to longevity? The old marketing way, where we were encouraged to spend more on advertising and to be seen, is dead. Marketing was about interrupting the masses, but times have changed. The only differentiator we have, as businesses, are the stories we tell.
