LID Publishing looks forward to releasing four new Concise Advice titles in 2016:

The Financial Wellbeing Book written by Financial Adviser Chris Budd focuses on how to handle one's long and short-term finances in order to live a more stress-free life.

The Mindfulness Book, written by leading international expert on emotional intelligence Martyn Newman, is about harnessing ones emotional capital through the old Buddhist technique of mindfulness, which will benefit both professional and personal life.

The Success Book by business strategist Tim Johnson will allow readers to measure the true meaning of success and ensure their success is benefitting them and those around them. This book is not about measuring ones financial and business achievements, but finding success that resonates with each individual.

The Feedback Book by executive coach Dawn Sillet provides tips on how to give effective feedback to one’s employees in a way that will both motivate and improve performance.

The Future Book by Futurologist Magnus Lindkvist is a recent addition to the Concise Advice series. Magnus took park in a Q&A on his book and the series.

1. What were the biggest challenges of writing The Future Book?

Writing the book took a decade of hard earned insights, research, blood, sweat and salty tears. The actual typing was done over a blissful few weeks in Croatia so less of a challenge there.

2. Do you see yourself writing any other Concise Advice books in the future? If so, what would they be about?

How about The Sex Book? (I am Swedish after all).

3. What was the biggest highlight of attending our Concise Advice Lab Mixer on December 8th?

Seeing the people behind these tiny books and meeting the brains that built them.

4. What advice would you give to any future Concise Advice authors?

Dare to have a perspective - don’t write an instruction manual.

5. Which other books from our Concise Advice series would you recommend?

The Impact Code and The Diagrams Book. But the best ones are yet to be written (says the futurologist).
LID Editorial, Spain launches 50 casos de éxito en Experiencia de Empleado

On the 19th November, LID Spain was proud to celebrate the launch of 50 casos de éxito en Experiencia de Empleado (50 Cases of Success in Employment Experience) by Rafael Vara, Itziar Nieto and Ignacio Fernández. The book details the challenges and success stories of directors of leading companies such as Direct Line and Iberia.

The launch was held at ICADE Business School in Madrid and was warmly received by the school director Marta Muñiz who stated the book treats a necessary theme in this competitive age.

The book is a great example of how it is possible to improve the work experience of each employee in Spain.

LID Editorial, Mexico launches El lado femenino del Poder
On the 9th November, LID Mexico celebrated the launch of El lado femenino del poder (The Feminine Side of Power) by Patricia Debeljuh, and María del Carmen Bernal and edited by LID Editorial, Argentina. The book is about highlighting the abilities of the working woman in a world of business, where they are often marginalized.

The launch took place at El IPADE Business School. The authors were accompanied by Marivi Esteve de Murga, President of the Mexican Association of independent advisors of investments (AMAII) and by Eduardo García Lecuona, Chairman and Chief Executive of Grupo Financiero Intercam. Both figures asserted that there will always be people who will try to discourage the workingwoman, but women who possess both knowledge and ability can find success.

Tim Love’s Book launch

On December 21, Tim Love presented his new book The Book That Gets Better With Age at a launch party hosted at Hearst Tower in New York City. Attended by 40 of his closest friends, family and colleagues, Tim shared the story of how the book idea came about, as well as the stories behind some of his favorite chapters in the book.
