LID Publishing would like to congratulate David Trafford and Peter Boggis, authors of Beyond Default, on being announced as one of the finalists for Foreword’s 2017 INDIES Book of the Year Awards in the Business & Economics category.
Foreword Review started their INDIES awards as part of their mission to discover, review, and share the best books from university and independent publishers.
Beyond Default beat out more than 2,000 entries spread across 68 genres submitted for consideration. The list of finalists was determined by Foreword’s editorial team and winners are now being decided by a panel of judges across the United States, reflecting Foreword’s readership of booksellers and librarians.
In Beyond Default, strategic management consultants David Trafford and Peter Boggis explain why developing and executing strategy remains such a challenge for most organizations. They discuss why companies such as Blackberry and Kodak are considered shadows of their former selves, while others like Apple and Amazon continuously evolve and prosper. They also define what role leaders need to play at a personal level if they are passionate about leading their organization beyond its default future.
“Choosing finalists for the INDIES is always the highlight of our year, but the job is very difficult due to the high quality of submissions,” said Victoria Sutherland, founder/publisher of Foreword Reviews. “Each new book award season proves again how independent publishers are the real innovators in the industry.”
Winners in each genre—along with Editor’s Choice Prize winners and Foreword’s INDIE Publisher of the Year—will be announced June 15, 2018.
