Last night (Thursday 22 March) LID Publishing celebrated the book launch of The Elemental Workplace by Neil Usher at the fabulous Herman Miller store in Aldwych.
The evening kicked off with some drinks and nibbles before adjourning to the stylish breakout room for a panel discussion chaired by author Neil Usher himself.
On the panel we welcomed Mat Davies (HR Director at Addison Lee), Bernie Mitchell (Freelancer & co-working enthusiast), Dr. Kerstin Sailer (The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London), Juliette Morgan (Head of Campus, British Land), and Dr. Anne Marie Rattray (Founder, The Smart Work Company).
The book is a simple guide to creating a workplace employees want to show up to. It details why you need a fantastic workplace, how to create it and what it comprises, in 12 key elements. The framework aims to demystify workplace design and can be applied to any workplace in any country, whatever the sector, desired workstyle or budget available.
The panel discussed included the future of the workplace, how people can benefit from an amazing workspace, and also how complex it is to design a workplace that is beneficial for everyone.
The discussion then opened up to the audience for questions, and the evening concluded with a well-deserved glass of prosecco!
Here are some pictures from the event, along with some great quotes from the evening!
“People are always complex, as are workplaces. Neil has made the complex easy.”
“You can start showing people how tomorrow can be better than today”
“Here’s a book that says, yes it’s simple, we can do this, we can create The Elemental Workplace”
