Last night LID hosted our 2017 Concise Advice mixer at the Library Club in Covent Garden.
Both showcasing and celebrating the authors of Concise Advice titles published this year, guests included authors, friends, colleagues and even family coming together to lend their support.
After drinks and mingling in the atmospheric underground space lit by candles, LID’s Brand Development Manager Niki Mullin gave a speech to thank everyone for coming, discussing the success of the book series including how many books have been translated into how many languages, how many units sold and the number of titles LID are happy to have published so far.
We then had some of our authors pitch their books to our audience, against the clock, with a three-minute time limit.
Kevin Duncan discussed The Excellence Book, and how we can all be better in every aspect of our lives, although not quite good enough to beat the timer!
Nicole Soames taught us the most important steps to follow from The Negotiation Book, and ran over time to share the 3 things we absolutely must avoid doing.
Simon Tyler’s Keep It Simple book received a heckling from Kevin Duncan during 20-seconds of meditation – to uncomplicate your life and work, which only seemed to focus Simon more as he finished bang on the mark to a cheer from the crowd.
Andrew Kinder appeared, without his two co-authors Rick Hughes and Cary Cooper, discussing overcoming and surviving work-life challenges with The Crisis Book.
And we rounded off the evening with a special video from Sanyin Siang explaining what you need to do, feel, and believe to achieve success with The Launch Book.
Guests also received LID goodie bags including books, sweets, Christmas cards, magazines and more with their very own LID Publishing tote bag.
Many thanks to all those who celebrated with us, those who have published books in the Concise Advice series, and here’s to 2018!
