With three decades of experience at the top level of publishing in the business and professional fields, along with multiple award wins, Martin counts editorships, directorships, and publishing roles among his career highlights. Martin has a BA and MA in Modern European History and French (University of East Anglia, UK) as well as postgraduate diplomas in Publishing (Exeter University, UK) and Management Studies (Kingston University, UK).
Sara manages the editorial function for UK, US and China book operations, and all LID Radio content and operations. Always keen to discuss ideas for non-fiction and business books with new authors, Saraâ€™s goal is to publish high-quality titles that provide great ideas and smart solutions. With a rich history in print publishing and digital products, Sara has worked for some of the worldâ€™s most successful and far-reaching non-fiction publishers including Thomson Reuters and LexisNexis Butterworths. Life before LID saw Sara serve as publishing director of the Cambridge Research Centre in 2013, assisting in shaping the publishing strategy and managed a collection of healthcare and pharmaceutical publications. Naturally curious, Sara holds BSc degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Queen Mary University, UK) and an MSc degree in Information Systems and Technology (City University, UK).
Director of business development and sales for LID Publishing, Niki works directly with industry-leading organizations and best selling authors to produce effective communication strategies through a variety of channels. Before joining LID in 2014, Niki started out in journalism, working with the BBC, Bristol City Council, and The Big Issue before making waves in events and business, working with global brands and large blue chip organizations, and managing companies and accounts such as Amdocs, Coca Cola, GDS International and IQPC.
Miro has experience in communications, digital media, PR, and marketing in both public and private sectors. He graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Media and Film Studies from Middlesex University. Host of the LID Radio podcast and an experienced web developer, Miro is most at home surrounded by computer screens.
Named to the Top 100 Hong Kong Young Artists by APPortfolio, Caroline is the pair of eyes at the helm of the LID Publishing design team. With almost a decade of graphic design experience from publishing houses Edipresse and John Brown Media, Caroline works closely with editorial teams to produce eye-catching and engaging book, banner, and digital designs. Recently departing London for life in Hong Kong, Caroline brings a unique multi-cultural flair to every piece she produces.
Xingyu joined LID in January 2018. As Business Development Manager, she connects industry-leading companies and organizations located in China with a global audience through powerful communication strategies, including printed books, e-books, journals and LID Speakers forum. Since beginning her career in Uruguay as International Project Coordinator, Xingyu has worked in consultancy to help multiple European companies to start and grow business in China.
Matthew graduated in graphic design in Marseille, France in 2012 and moved to London only a few months later, developing both his creative and interpersonal skills. TravellingÂ and cultural exchanges inspire his best work. With a choice soundtrack often accompanying his designs, Matthew’s second love is dancing.
Francesca joined LID Publishing in 2018 as a Publicist. Her role involves supporting authorsâ€™ PR and marketing campaigns from the initial idea until hitting the shelves, raising the profile of their books in the media and industry landscape. Francesca has a varied PR background from fashion to financial projects, and was previously the PR Lead for a national high street retailer. She is an avid reader, stemming from her degree in English Literature, and loves psychological thrillers and poetry.
Leading LID Publishing’s business development team in Asia, Monica has a long history of working in publishing; starting out as an assistant editor for bilingual business digest magazine, Master60, and progressing to manage translation rights for Sunbright Publishing Co. Moving to London to pursue her Masters in Publishing from City University, Monica remained in London to handle the world rights sales and digital licensing for Kogan Page Ltd before joining LID Publishing in 2014.
Ben Walker is editor of the Dialogue journal. He has been a journalist in London for almost 20 years, specialising in management, business, economics and public policy. He has won a range of industry awards for his editing and writing. A father-of-one, Ben spends his free time cooking, walking, playing poker, and mountain biking. He is a keen cricket fan and a lifelong supporter of his hometown football club, Nottingham Forest.
Kirsten trades a neuroscientist’s white lab coat for the deputy editor desk in LID’s Journals department, running Dialogue’s digital platforms and maintaining sections in all print journals. A passionate communicator, Kirsten has clarified and enhanced messages for entrepreneurs, charities, global corporations, and academics around the world. Never too far from her roots, Kirsten also works closely with LID editors on psychology, technology, and science projects.
Susan joined LID in November 2018. She holds a BA in English Literature and an MA in Publishing and previously worked in editorial roles in academic and professional publishing. Originally from Upstate New York, Susan moved to the UK in 2014. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, reading and tap dancing.
As the UK Communications Manager, Maria oversees all PR and marketing activity of book projects in addition to LID Publishingâ€™s external communications. Her role involves developing tailored strategies for authors to make a success of their books and thrive in their field of expertise. Prior to LID Publishing, she worked as a communications consultant for multiple corporate and consumer campaigns, as well as in retail marketing at a multi-brand global company. She holds a degree in International Politics and Sociology (City University, London).
Alec studied engineering and design of management information systems in Moscow, he worked in business development teams across a range of B2B media brands. Alec worked with clients at a national, territory and regional level delivering on market and business development objectives. Recently Alec completed a project for Emerald Publishing and a UK market entry project for a martech start-up. His interests are business coaching, technology, endurance sports and spending quality time with his family.
Natasha joined LID Publishing as a Publicist in May 2018, where she promotes books and authors to the media and press. Previously, she worked as the Social Media Manager for SalesHub and the Publicity and Marketing Manager for Fitzhenry & Whiteside Ltd. She holds an Arts Degree (University of Toronto, 2012) and a Graduate Certificate in Book and Magazine Publishing (Centennial College, 2013). Born and raised in Canada, Natasha moved to London after a lifelong dream to work and live in the UK.
Paulina joined LID Business Media in February 2019 as Business Development Coordinator. She brings long-lasting value and growth opportunities for potential partners and clients. With a background in project management, she has been involved in international cooperation and development across private, public and third-party sectors. She holds a degree in International Relations from the College of Enterprise and Administration and is passionate about foreign languages. Paulina lives a low-in-chemical lifestyle, and actively contributes pro bono work for charity.
Arabella studied Greco Roman Culture at The University of Exeter. After graduating, she worked in the film and television industries as a production assistant, and then in the events space. She is excited to be embarking on a career in publishing.
