During 14-18 October, LID Publishing exhibited at the Frankfurt Bookfair, the highlight of the trade publishing sector calendar. With our strongest ever frontlist, we held meetings with 70 publishers and agents to promote our new titles and key backlist titles for translation.

Pedro Algorta visits Spain
LID Spain was proud to welcome LID author Pedro Algorta to tell his story. Algorta is a survivor of the famous Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 that crashed in the Andes. He wrote a book that documents that experience, Las Montañas Siguen Allí (The Mountains Are Still There). He presented the book in Arbórea and La Galería del 32. He also ran a conference inside Escuela de Emprendedores.
The English translation, titled Into the Mountains, is due to be published in 2016.

La Disciplina de Emprender at Café de Lideres
LID Mexico was pleased to announce that Bill Aulet’s La Disciplina de Emprender was presented at a discussion in Café de Lideres, organised in conjunction with the University of Anahuac, Mexico on 16th September.
The book was greatly received among alumni who stated that although the book targets start ups in the technology industry, it is a great guide to any company that is starting up or in the process of expansion. The audience concluded that in order to start a business one must possess self-discipline, perseverance, tolerance towards frustration and passion for what one does.

Michael Farmer at the BOLO Conference
Michael Farmer, author of Madison Avenue Manslaughter, spoke at the BOLO (Be On the Lookout) digital marketing conference in Tempe, Arizona. The conference, known as the advertising agency conference of the year, ran from October 18th-20th. It is aimed at thought leaders, PR professionals and change makers.
Michael Farmer is Chairman and CEO of Farmer and Co. LLC, a strategy consulting firm for advertising agencies and major agencies. His book, Madison Avenue Manslaughter, which both defines ‘the real agency problem’ and offers solutions for it, was launched in the US in September 2015.

Shelley Reciniello at the National Diversity Women’s Business Leadership Conference
LID author Dr. Shelley Reciniello (The Conscious Leader) ran coaching seminars at the Diversity Woman’s Conference which took place on the 15th and 16th October in Lake Buena Vista in Florida.
The conference celebrated its 10th anniversary and included keynote presentations on developing inclusive leadership, leadership coaching sessions and the 2015 mosaic woman awards.
Dr. Reciniello has a Clinical/Social Psychology doctorate from New School For Social Research and is a member of the International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organizations. Her book, The Conscious Leader lays out 9 principles and practices to create a productive workplace
