Following a 30-year career as a Hollywood actor, Larry Laverty became one of the most popular nature photographers in the world. His aggressive style and comprehensive coverage of wildlife have been captivating viewers for more than a decade. Following his first book, Power and Majesty (2019), highlighting Africa’s elephants, Larry has written, directed or produced several wildlife films, including Where Buffalo Roam (2021). Larry holds a BS degree in finance and a BA degree in political science, and has pursued graduate studies at several institutions including Johns Hopkins University. Larry makes his home in Oakland, California, at the very place where passing butterflies in his childhood ignited his appreciation for the natural world.
