Three LID Books Win Awards at the Business Book Awards 2025
Three LID books were recognised among the winners of last evening’s Business Book Awards.
Bridging the Gap by Dr Catherine Xiang won the Specialist Book Category award. The author expressed her deep gratitude for the recognition of her work on intercultural communication.
Leadership Transition by Michael Stanford was announced the winner in the Leadership Book category. The award was accepted by LID’s Associate Publisher, Alec Egan, on behalf of the author.
The Execution Revolution by Johan Grönstedt was Highly Commended in the International Business Book Category. The award was accepted by LID’s Communications Manager, Teya Ucherdzhieva, on behalf of the author.
Martin Liu, LID Publishing’s COO and Publisher, says: “We are immensely proud to see three LID titles recognized on this prestigious platform.
“Catherine Hua Xiang’s book, Bridging the Gap, is a truly excellent and valuable book for anyone doing business in China today. Its recognition is particularly exciting, because it is the first title in the Navigating China series that LID has recently launched.
“Michael Stanford’s book, Leadership Transition, is based on his exceptional organizational experience and study, and provides a deep understanding of modern leadership. This is the second time that a LID author has won the Best Leadership Book category in the past three years (Nicholas Janni in 2023).
“And Johan Grönstedt’s book, The Execution Revolution, was deservedly commended for what is a clear and important book about focus in an age of distraction.
“I also want to celebrate and congratulate our other brilliant finalists – Magnus Lindkvist, Rosie Duncan, Alan Williams, Dave Stubberfield, and Chris Hatfield – for their outstanding achievement in reaching the final. Last night’s recognition is a testament to the quality and relevance of their work, and we at LID are honoured to publish them all.”
The Business Book Awards Gala took place on 10th September 2025 at The Drum Wembley in London.

Bridging the Gap is the first title in the new “Navigating China” series of books written by leading experts in the field of international business and cross-cultural communications. The book unravels the nuances of effective communication in China. It introduces readers to the basics of intercultural communication. It also highlights cultural, linguistic, and socio-economic factors that shape how Chinese people communicate.
Leadership Transition explains how we can use chaos as fuel for growth. Integrating clinical insights with personal stories and case examples gathered over three decades as a leadership practitioner, researcher, consultant and coach, Michael Stanford helps leaders understand why we react the way we do when the challenges around us feel too heavy to bear.
The Execution Revolution is a manifesto for excellence in the face of overwhelming odds. With over 80% of company strategies failing to reach fruition, this book is not just timely; it’s necessary. Through compelling evidence and engaging narratives, Johan Grönstedt explains the critical importance of prioritization, actionability and digital acceleration as the levers behind scalable success in an increasingly disrupted business environment.
