INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2021: LID PUBLISHING’S #CHOOSETOCHALLENGE:
LID’s mission is sharing knowledge. Our purpose is to spread the ideas of thought-leaders in business and self-development worldwide through a variety of media. We align our mission with our authors’ business goals to enhance their professional profile and unlock business opportunities.
At LID, we have pride in our diversity of thought and knowledge within our employment base. We are a gender-inclusive, flexible employer with a strong record of recruiting from BAME and LGBT+ communities.
Yet there is more to be done. Building on the success of our diversity in recruitment, we want to build more diversity in our client base. Representing and sharing diverse knowledge and expertise can only come from a diverse author portfolio: different backgrounds, stories, experiences, ethnicities, sexualities and genders.
LID recognises that this will involve work, time and a conscious effort by all team members. We need to amplify our strategy and create specific processes to improve our diversity and hold ourselves accountable when we fall short. Only by diversifying our author base can we fully achieve our company mission, and we want to begin this journey by addressing the lack of gender equality in the authors we publish.
