Leaders in Lockdown by Atholl Duncan has won the 2022 Next Generation Indie Book Awards in the Covid-19 Category.

The Next Generation Indie Book Awards is the largest international awards program for indie authors and independent publishers, based in the USA.

The awards judges shared their comments about Leaders in Lockdown: “The true test of a leader is to see how they act in a crisis. Mr. Duncan’s interviews with senior global executives of large companies reveal how they successfully lead their businesses and others during the pandemic. This book is the perfect reference manual, tool, to inform the potential leader in each of us and models masterful determination.”

Atholl Duncan expressed his delight in winning the award: “When we set out to write Leaders in Lockdown, we didn’t imagine how long-lasting and widespread the impact of the pandemic would be on the business world. Leadership is about how we respond in the bad times not what we do in the good times. This award is a kind piece of recognition that the insights of our ‘Leaders in Lockdown’ on the bad times may be helpful and useful for business leaders so that all of us can deal better with the next global crisis when it inevitably rolls out across the world. My thanks are to the Indie Book Awards judges for recognising us but most of all to the ‘Leaders in Lockdown’ for sharing their time and their knowledge for the benefit of others.”

The awards will be officially presented to their winners at an event in Washington, DC on 24th June and the gala event will be broadcast live on the Next Generation Indie Book Awards Facebook page.

Martin Liu, Publisher and COO of LID Publishing, congratulated Atholl Duncan on winning the award: “This book, published in the midst of one of the most challenging times ever for businesses, provided extraordinary insight, guidance and inspiration to many business leaders who read the book. When Leaders in Lockdown was published, we at LID immediately felt its significance. I would like to congratulate Atholl for winning this prestigious prize and the recognition that it brings to him for researching and writing such an important and valuable book.”
